This website while being a companion to our youtube channel ( hint head over, take a look and subscribe – it’s free ), aims to be a place where we can explore topics in more detail.

Typically we cover topics important to families; budgeting, food and cooking, travel/days out, home finances and lifestyle. Our content is based on our personal experiences.

We debated the name of the website and youtube channel for a while. There is no preference of which name was first, one had to naturally, in the end it was down to the order Lisa writes names on Christmas cards. We present ShaneAndLisa.com a space for our written content.

About Us

Shane and Lisa are a married couple living in the United Kingdom with 5 growing kids. In fact growing so fast that one is now and adult and has flown the nest having gained a full time dream job offering. With many patterings of tiny feet we have had to always keep an eye on budgeting. Awkward eaters, bickering, fixing the car, homework are all for the course, along with of course, laughter. If you cannot laugh then perhaps you’ve not seen life as intended.

We hope to develop Shane and Lisa to provide the family with an income stream, writing guides and courses to be available here on this site. In an ideal world we should have probably started this years ago but life seems to bring problems that steal time right? On the basis that there is never a right time, then the right time is now.

Around three years ago we began filming food review videos and posted them onto YouTube. We felt that having the two of us working together offers a perspective not available in single person channels. Being budget conscious we generally filmed low cost food and ready meals. We have also made £5 challenge specials which proved to be popular but filming specials is quite hard work especially with respect to time and the learning curve is big.

About Shane

Over the years Shane has worked both for others and under his own guidance, travelled, designed new things and broke things. Shane’s questions from the kids typically are confined to gadgets and homework which is handy. Currently Shane spends time studying Assignment, programming and developing our social media content.
